Three brothers crushed to death by train

VEHARI/TOBA TEK SINGH-Three brothers and a gatekeeper of railway crossing were crushed to death by moving trains in two incidents here on Saturday.
In Vehari, three brothers, riding a bike, were hit to death by a train at an open railway crossing here on Saturday. The police said that Karachi-bound Fareed Express train, coming from Lahore, rammed into a bike crossing the track at open railway crossing at Pakhi Morr here. Resultantly, the three brothers, residents of 571/EB Vehari - Arif, Javed and Shahid were killed on the spot. The police said that the deceased boys were on the way back home from school. Rescue 1122 and police party reached the spot and took the dead bodies to hospital from where they were handed over to the family after autopsy. The police are looking into the matter.
In Toba Tek Singh, the gatekeeper of a railway level-crossing died while saving a woman from being crushed by a train here on Saturday.
Eye-witnesses said that an unidentified woman was crossing the track at railway level-crossing when the gates were closed as Karachi-Lahore bound Shalimar Express train was passing through the area. As gatekeeper Muhammad Siddiq sighted the woman, he rushed to the track and pulled the woman off the track. In the meanwhile, the train hit him, leaving him with critical injuries. He was admitted to DHQ Hospital where he later succumbed to wounds.
