‘BJP supporting AAP to split secular votes’
Margao: Nuvem MLA Francisco “Mickky” Pacheco on Saturday charged the BJP with clandestinely supporting the Aam Admi Party (AAP) to engineer a split in “secular votes”.
Terming AAP as an agent of the BJP, Pacheco said, “AAP has been sent by the BJP to divide the votes of the minorities.” He also questioned the source of funding for AAP which, he alleged, pays 1000 for attending their public meetings and 500 for wearing their cap.
Stating that the recent results of five state assembly elections was an indicator of the rise of regional parties in the country, the supremo of the Goa Vikas Party (GVP) said that his regional outfit would align with local forces “if there is a consensus”.
“The recent elections have given clear mandate to regional forces. People have shown that they believe in the regional forces, and not in national parties, to bring about a change in the country,” Pacheco said. tnn
