Four missing girls found in Tirupati

The girls were last seen by Padma's father Yadaiah on Tuesday evening while they were playing near Chennareddy Hospital.

Hyderabad: Chandanagar police traced the four girls who went missing on Tuesday at Tirupati. Police said that a pilgrim found them in Tirupati and informed the police. Special teams have been sent to Tirupati to rescue the girls.

Police said an unidentified man found the four girls Swapna, 12, Renuka, 9, Kaveri, 8 and Padma, 10, moving around in Tirupati on Wednesday and asked them to go to Tirumala for food and shelter. On Friday, the man who came to know about these girls through the media informed the police and told them that they had travelled to Tirumala.

“When he asked them the girls said that they belonged to Lingampally in Hyderabad and based on that information the person called us and informed us about the girls,” inspector N. Tirupathi Rao said.

Swapna, Renuka and Kaveri are residents of Bandamkommu village in RC Puram and Padma a resident of Shantinagar in Chandanagar are daughters of relatives and belong to the same community.

On Tuesday, they went out in the morning and were playing in Shantinagar till afternoon. But when the girls did not return by night the parents grew apprehensive and started searching for them in vain. Later, they filed a complaint with the police and a missing case was registered.

The girls were last seen by Padma’s father Yadaiah on Tuesday evening while they were playing near Chennareddy Hospital.
