Guard arrested for possessing country-made pistol

Pune: A security guard from Khed was arrested on Saturday evening at Shivnerinagar in Kondhwa for possessing a country-made pistol.
The Kondhwa police received a tip-off that the guard, Somnath Prakash Patole (23), was in illegal possession of a pistol and a cartridge. A police team led by sub-inspector Nitin Atkare under senior inspector Rajendra Mokashi, the in-charge of the Kondhwa police station, verified the information, took Patole into custody and recovered the firearm from him.
Patole was arrested under the Arms Act.tnn We are conducting investigations to trace the source of firearms, said Mokashi.
