Horse and six canines stolen in Manjari
Pune: The Hadapsar police have launched an investigation into an alleged theft of a horse and six canines from a farm in Manjari near Hadapsar between May 2 and 12.
Police said the incident appears to be a fall out of a dispute between the land owners and the caretaker.
Police said Lakhvidharsingh Mattu (45), a resident of Bopodi who runs a private firm involved in trading, marketing and land development, was appointed the caretaker of a huge property by its owners in Manjari in 2012.

Mattu started staying in the farm and appointed 19 guards for the premises. He had also bought a horse and 25 dogs of various breeds. Mattu's appointment was terminated following a financial dispute between him and the landowners. He then filed a civil suit against the landowners in the district and sessions court in Shivajinagar.
Mattu, in his complaint, stated that he first got a call from a farm employee stating that his horse was stolen on May 2. Ten days later, he was intimated that six of the canines were stolen, police said. He filed two complaints stating details of the thefts with the Pune police commissionerate and the Hadapsar police station on May 3 and 12.
The police on Friday registered a complaint under section 379 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code.
