LPG leak at house leads to blast, kills one

A 52-year-old woman died of burns suffered after a gas stove she was working on exploded. Police said A Angelina of Rajeev Gandhi Road in Okkiam Thoraipakkam, was cooking when the LPG stove on Friday night exploded due to gas leak, police said.

Chennai: A 52-year-old woman died of burns suffered after a gas stove she was working on exploded.
Police said A Angelina of Rajeev Gandhi Road in Okkiam Thoraipakkam, was cooking when the LPG stove on Friday night exploded due to gas leak, police said.
Her husband who was home ran to her rescue but in the attempt ended up injuring himself. Neighbours heard the cries and alerted police.
The couple were admitted to the Kilpauk Medical College where Angelina later died.
