Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjewadi
The Hinjewadi Industries Association (HIA) has started talks with the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) to set up CCTV surveillance at Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjewadi. Speaking at a press conference, HIA president Anil Patwardhan said that the project would be funded by MIDC and would be approved soon.
Under the new CCTV surveillance project, 26 cameras would be set up at 10 junctions with Allied Digital carrying out the work of setting up the cameras. “We had been pushing for the survelliance project for the past three years and finally progress has been made,” Patwardhan said.
To solve traffic woes in the IT park, multiple road widening projects and proposals for building new roads are under process. HIA has already been successful in approving a six-lane road from Balewadi to Phase 1 and construction would begin once the land acquisition process is completed for the same.

Since this road meets a single lane road ahead, HIA has also proposed widening the Phase 1-Pirangut route, but confirmation is yet to be received. “We are presenting proposals to the government for arterial roads to decongest Shivaji Chowk and solve the traffic problems at peak hours”, said Sunil Advani, Founder Member of HIA and Chairperson of Infrastructure Department.
HIA also has an integrated waste management system on the cards in partnership with Noble Exchange to improve sanitation in Hinjewadi. It also plans to initiate talks for metro rail services, BRT services and two new roads to Hinjewadi in future.
