Hopes rekindle for Jamalpur railway workshop after NITI Aayog's team visit

Munger, May 21(UNI) The visit of 10-member team of NITI Aayog, headed by its member and former Chief of Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Padma Bhusan, scientist Dr V K Saraswat at Jamalpur, has rekindled high hopes for introduction of a number of new manufacturing workloads at 154-year-old Jamalpur Railway Workshop and a number of technical courses of higher studies in engineering at the Indian Railway Insititute of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering (IRIMEE), Jamalpur.
Dr Saraswat, who also heads the Advisory Group of Experts as its Chairman, told UNI today, "After having discussed many things at the marathon meeting with senior officials of Jamalpur Railway Workshop and professors/ lecturers of IRIMEE, our team members are fully satisfied with the existing infrastructure in good condition and maintenance at both Jamalpur Railway Workshop and IRIMEE.
Our team members have decided to upgrade the existing tools and machinery at Jamalpur Railway Locomotives to meet the future technological advancement related challenges in the Indian Railways.
