That’s all from us from the game. It was welcome thriller, one that went down to the wire. The payoffs race is getting heated now as we head into the weekend games. Do join us through all the actions. Good night.

11:58 PM (IST)

Karun Nair is named Man of the Match for his excellent innings.

11:53 PM (IST)

Delhi Daredevils win by 6 wickers, courtesy an excellent Karun Nair fifty. 83 not-out off 59, 8 fours and 3 sixes.

11:51 PM (IST)

Fine knock under tremendous pressure from the young guy.

11:51 PM (IST)

Warner, visibly furious, blames himself for the loss. “I dropped the catch and they went on to win.” What a cricketer. Excellent knock from him. SRH were let down by fielding, barring that Sran blinder, a couple of sitters dropped.

In the end Nair trumped Warner’s innings and Delhi live to fight another day. Excellent game of T20 here, big ground, hard to clear, excellent contest between bat and ball. This is what people want to see.

11:48 PM (IST)

FOUR! AND DELHI DAREDEVILS WIN A THRILLER, one of better IPL matches. Bhuvi banged it short again, but Nair anticipated this one, he pulled it beyond a diving Warner at mid-on and it goes to the fence. Warner slams the ground with his hand, he is furious at himself. What a cricketer!

DD win by 6 wickets and inch closer to playoffs. And Karun Nair deservedly hit the the winning runs, what a man of the match performance. 83 off 59, 8 fours, 3 sixes.

11:44 PM (IST)

FOUR, Nair hammers it down the ground, beyond the reach of a diving Warner. Gamechanger!  TWO RUNS NEEDED OFF THE FINAL BALL

11:44 PM (IST)

Another good ball, bowled at the pads, short of yorker length. Leg bye and single. Nair back on strike.

11:42 PM (IST)

Excellent ball from Bhuvi, a bouncer at Nair’s face. He has no answer to it. Puts the bat ahead to stave it off for single

11:41 PM (IST)

Single, beyond short fine leg. Leg bye. Nair on strike, he’s on 74 off 56

11:40 PM (IST)

A couple off the first ball. Tucked away behind square

11:39 PM (IST)

Sanju Samson, the new man in, on strike in the last over. 11 runs needed. can Delhi pull it off?

11:39 PM (IST)

After 19 overs,Delhi 148/4 ( Karun Nair 74 , Sanju Samson 1)

OUT! Brathwaite departs on 10, Mustafizur finally gets a wicket on the night, and he has Barinder Sran to thank for it. Whattey catch! As good as you’ll ever see. The Fizz had his part to play as well, his off cutter got the edge off Brathwaite’s bat as he sliced at the wide delivery. The outside edge was flying to the third man boundary, but then Sran, at short third man, flew faster and plucked the ball out of the thin air. Breathtaking catch! This could win the match for SRH!

What an over from Mustafiz! A wicket and just 5 runs given in the penultimate over. He has shown his quality to tighten the screws on DD. 11 now needed off the last over.

11:33 PM (IST)

After 18 overs,Delhi 143/3 ( Karun Nair 70 , Carlos Brathwaite 10)

The target nears further. Brathwaite gets a couple boundaries off Bhuvi to make DD’s job easier. Bhuvi goes full and wide on the very first ball, and Carlos carves a boundary at point. The second one was unfortunate for SRH. The ball hits Brathwaite and sneaks past confounded Ojha for four. 16 needed off the last two overs.

11:26 PM (IST)

After 17 overs,Delhi 131/3 ( Karun Nair 70 , Carlos Brathwaite 1)

Nair hammers two sixes in the over, much needed maximums at the moment. Nair is playing a superb knock here. This has lifted the pressure off DD. First one was banged in short by Sran, drifting down leg. Nair pulls it hard over square leg for six. Then on the last ball of the over, Nair picks up the slower one and muscles it to mid-wicket for another six, bringing down the asking rate. 28 needed off 18 now, with Nair and big-man Brathwaite at the crease. This has definitely tilted  in Delhi’s favour.

11:22 PM (IST)

OUT! Duminy does it again but is not spared this time, full and wide and he tries to tonk it, gets little bat on it and Warner this time takes it without a niggle at mid on. Warner throws the ball angrily into the ground after taking the catch. Normality has ensued. Duminy goes for 17, Sran gets the wicket.

11:20 PM (IST)

After 16 overs,Delhi 117/2 ( Karun Nair 57 , JP Duminy 17)

Nair shuffles across his stumps and whips behind the short one from Mustafizur, beyond the reach of short fine leg for four. Mustafizur is not helped by his fielders on his last ball, another dropped catch, this time an even easier one of Duminy. Bhuvneshwar the culprit. Full and wide, Duminy lofts it and Bhuvi drops the sitter. There’s no excuse for that, even in high-school cricket.

11:14 PM (IST)

Mustafizur brought back in to get a break. It’s business end now. Last 5 overs left. Can the Bangladeshi pacer do the trick fro SRH?

11:12 PM (IST)

After 15 overs,Delhi 107/2 ( Karun Nair 52 , JP Duminy 13)

David Warner is human! He has dropped a sitter there. He must be so, so disappointed with that effort. Nair survives. Nair mis-timed his pull and Warner made a mess of it running in from long on.

52 needed off 30 balls now.

11:09 PM (IST)

After 14 overs,Delhi 103/2 ( Karun Nair 50 , JP Duminy 11)

FIFTY for Nair. Good innings this. 42 balls, 5 fours and six.

11:02 PM (IST)

After 13 overs,Delhi 92/2 ( Karun Nair 48 , JP Duminy 2)

Hood risks a wide full toss on the off. It doesn’t pay well, Nair sends it where it deserves to be. Hammered to mid-wicket for four runs. He moves to 48. 67 runs required from 42 balls. Required RR almost kissing 10.

11:00 PM (IST)

After 12 overs,Delhi 83/2 ( Karun Nair 41 , JP Duminy 0)

OUT! Pant is run-out on 32 after an good innings. It was a googly going down leg from Karn Sharma, Nair tucked it to deep square leg. Pant was sluggish for the second run and Bhuvi finds the stumps with an excellent direct hit. Delhi send in veteran JP Duminy. Just the man for Dlehi to take over the reins from here. Nair has continued and is now nearing his half-century.

10:55 PM (IST)

After 9 overs,Delhi 62/1 ( Rishabh Pant 22 , Karun Nair 30)

Nair has hammered a six off Henriques. It was slow and short an pulled away for maximum over at square leg. Time Out now. Delhi have recovered since the initial de Kock dismissal. 50 partnership comes up too between Pant and Nair. Crucial innings from the two young batsmen.

10:47 PM (IST)

After 9 overs,Delhi 62/1 ( Rishabh Pant 22 , Karun Nair 30)

Nair has hammered a six off Henriques. It was slow and short an pulled away for maximum over at square leg. Time Out now. Delhi have recovered since the initial de Kock dismissal. 50 partnership comes up too between Pant and Nair. Crucial innings from the two young batsmen.

10:33 PM (IST)

After 6 overs,Delhi 37/1 ( Rishabh Pant 9 , Karun Nair 18)

Fine over from Mustafizur, just the one run off it. Pant ran a single off the first ball and then Nair played out five balls cautiously. 5 dots on the trot is T20 gold. Mustafiz shows why he’s so highly regarded. He mixes up a cutter, a slower one and a nippy quickie all in the space of three balls. He executes all of them perfectly. Bona fide talent.

10:31 PM (IST)

Number 437. Jimmy Anderson is on fire and he’s swinging it like the 60s.

10:29 PM (IST)

He’s played him well till now, even got boundary in the 4th over. Who’ll have the last laugh though?

10:27 PM (IST)

After 5 overs,Delhi 36/1 ( Rishabh Pant 8 , Karun Nair 18)

Karun Nair takes up the hitting responsibility upon his shoulders in the Sran over. Three fours in the over. Excellent batting from the youngster. First he carves out a brilliant drive off a full and wide delivery through point. Sran then goes short and Nair was waiting for it. He pulled it in front of square. Sran goes full and wide again and Nair again finds space in the jam-packed offside field, punches a drive through deep cover. 14 runs off the over.

10:18 PM (IST)

Number 437. Jimmy Anderson is on fire and he’s swinging it like the 60s.

10:15 PM (IST)

After 2 overs,Delhi 10/1 ( Rishabh Pant 1 , Karun Nair 1)

OUT! De Kock departs early again, Sran strikes. Itw as full and wide from Sran, de kock lunged at it but got an outside edge and sent it straight into the hadns of Ojha. Big wicket, the South African is dismissed for just two. Far from ideal start for Delhi in a crucial game with respect to making it to playoffs.

10:08 PM (IST)

After 1 overs,Delhi 8/0 ( Quinton de Kock (W) 2 , Rishabh Pant 0)

Not the best of starts from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, drifts down leg and gives away 5 wides for free. That’s five runs chipped off the target for nothing. Could come back and bite SRH on their bottom if the games goes down to the wire. Bhuvi, though, recovers well. He kept the lid on de Kock with a tight line. 8 runs off the over.

10:03 PM (IST)

436 now. Anderson has also gobbled up debutant Dasun Shanaka.

10:02 PM (IST)

Meanwhile, James Anderson has dismissed Angelo Mathews on the Day Two of the Headingly Test to claim his 435th Test wicket and has overtaken Kapil Dev (434) as the sixth highest Test wicket-taker of all time.

It’s a big ground. Have SRH done enough?

After 20 overs,Hyderabad 158/7 ( Naman Ojha (W) 16 , )

OUT Bhuvaneswar Kumar is run-out the last ball Bhuvi hammers another four, off the first ball of the last over by NCN. Ths one lifted over mid-off. But SRH don’t capitalise on the first ball advantage and only make 9 from the last over. Good effort from Coulter-Nile. Bhuvi is run out too on the last ball in the hunt for a double that wasn’t.

SRH end up at a decent total of 158/7, Both teams would be happy with their show. If only Warner had stayed on for longer, he’d have taken the score 20 off runs higher. SRH kept losing wickets periodically after the skipper departed.

After 19 overs,Hyderabad 149/6 ( Naman Ojha (W) 15 , Bhuvneshwar Kumar 5)

Ojha takes up the mantle and hits a huge six right off the first ball from Zaheer. Short and going down leg, Ojha pulls and sends the ball flying over square leg. Then Bhuvaneshwar Kumar gets in the hitting act and smashes one over mid on. 14 crucial runs from the over.

OUT! Morgan is taken at long on by Brathwaite, another big wicket. Short delivery by NCN, Morgan pulls without much control, it’s a big boundary and the ball only reaches Brathwaite. What a day he’s had — 2 wickets, 1 run out, 1 catch, and yet to bat.

Massive heave from Morgan. Gets down on one knee, reaches out to a wide on off delivery and wraps the full face of the bat around it. The ball sails way over long on and hits the sight screen.

Dropped! Pant drops a simple one at short cover. Morgan gets a lifeline. Zaheer, the bowler, looks displeased. As the commentator points out, Pnat overdid the whole thing, over ran, dove unnecessarily. Morgan’s wicket here would have set SRH further back.

After 16 overs,Hyderabad 120/5 ( Eoin Morgan 4 , Naman Ojha (W) 2)
OUT! Warner departs on 73,
massive wicket! Brathwaite strikes again, Warner looks disappointed with his shot. It was short and outside off from Brathwaite, Warner waited and went for the whip behind point, but got a top edge. Mishra gladly took the catch at third man. One can understand why Warner is so disappointed with himself. He could’ve played that delivery in 10 different ways and all of them would have gone to the fence. But it’s been an excellent innings from him, 73 off 56, 8 fours and a six. Naman Ojha the new man in.

It was good connection from Henriques, nice sound off the bat. Just picked out the long boundary. This would have been a six any day at Bangalore

OUT! Henriques slog sweeps and finds Negi at deep mid-wicket. SRH 105/4 Warner still there. Eoin Morgan walks in

After 12 overs,Hyderabad 91/3 ( David Warner (C) 57 , Moises Henriques 11)

Warner finally unleashes that six brimming for so long, and off Brathwaite no less. Gets down on one knee and a massive swing of the bat later, the ball is deposited over long-on. A Henriques boundary off the last ball takes the tally to 13 runs form the over.

OUT! Danger-man Yuvraj is gone on 10, Brathwaite strikes. Yuvi gets an inside edge trying to play a late cut on a length ball, and the ball makes a mess of his stumps. Moises Henriques the new man in.

FIFTY for Warner! Seventh half-century for Dave Warner in the ongoing IPL, 50 off 40 balls, 7 fours. He’s shouldering the responsiblity and now needs to sse this through for SRH.

OUT! Danger-man Yuvraj is gone on 10, Brathwaite strikes. Yuvi gets an inside edge trying to play a late cut on a length ball, and the ball makes a mess of his stumps. Moises Henriques the new man in.

13 run outs by DD in the IPL.

After 7 overs,Hyderabad 50/2 ( David Warner (C) 38 , Yuvraj Singh 1)

OUT! Another run-out! Hooda is gone on 1! Mishra was bowling to Warner who slotted it to short cover. Mishra ran and quickly handled it, while Hooda was out halfway on the pitch. Mishra takes a second, takes aim and takes out the non striker’s stumps with a direct hit. Two run-outs. DD are running (pun intended) away with it! Yuvraj the new man at the crease.

OUT! Dhawan is dismissed by Brathwaite’s brilliance! He’s run-out. Excellent work from the big West Indian. Dhawan chips a shot towards mid on and takes off from his crease, Brathwaite pounces and by the time Dhawan realises he’s in trouble, his stumps are flying, direct hit. Superb fielding.

After 5 overs,Hyderabad 42/0 ( David Warner (C) 33 , Shikhar Dhawan 9)

Warner is scorching at the moment. Yadav comes back in and faces the big man’s wrath, again. Back-to-back fours. Carved away for four over mid on, immense power on that, and then a short one is again muscled over mid on. It becomes almost impossible to bowl to the man when he’s batting like this, he really can hit any ball, It’s astounding the number shots Dave Warner has in his repertoire. Delhi need a break here, quick.

They’ve been leading from the front this IPL

After 4 overs,Hyderabad 32/0 ( David Warner (C) 23 , Shikhar Dhawan 9)

Coulter-Nile brought in as change for Yadav, but Warner makes short change of the pacer. He slashes a full and wide one form Coulter-Nile for four at point on the very first ball, lunging and reaching out for the ball. Coulter-Nile then goes shortish on off, Warner makes space and slaps it over shot cover for four again. Dhawan, as if tired of playing Robin to Warner’s Batman, greets the ball on his pads and flicks it behind square leg for the third ball of the over. Warner and Dhawan have started robustly, always a good sign for SRH.

After 2 overs,Hyderabad 10/0 ( David Warner (C) 10 , Shikhar Dhawan 0)

And Delhi push in spin from the top. Jayant Yadav comes in, and it seems Warner couldn’t be happier. The Aussie hits back-to-back fours off Yadav; the first one slashed late behind short gully, and the second an inside-out cover drive after making some room. Nine runs off the over. Warner is third highest run-getter in the IPL 9. And he looks like he’s in the mood to close down the gap.

After 1 overs,Hyderabad 1/0 ( David Warner (C) 1 , Shikhar Dhawan 0)

Excellent first over from Zaheer. It seemed he was bowling at Headingly, where Stuart Braod and James Anderson are wrecking the Sri Lankan top order. Zak kept it extremely tight, always in the tempting drive channel, swinging away. Almost lured Dhawan into edging one that moved quite a bit. Dhawan will now think twice before trying that expansive drive again so early on in the innnigs.

David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan open for SRH. Zaheer Khan to open the bowling.

Change has been the only constant for Delhi Daredevils this IPL
