Gang of robbers busted, 3 arrested

With the arrest of three persons Rau police on Friday claimed to have busted a gang of robbers and recovered stolen jewellery and mobile phones worth Rs 85,000 from their possession.

Indore: With the arrest of three persons Rau police on Friday claimed to have busted a gang of robbers and recovered stolen jewellery and mobile phones worth Rs 85,000 from their possession. The accused have been identified as Santosh Malviya, 28, Rajat Yadav, 15 and Vikas Vankhede, 22, all residents of Dwarkapuri.
Police had received a complaint on May 5 that a man Nitin Tyagi was attacked by two bike borne miscreants who looted him of cash and jewellery and stabbed him in the process.

Acting promptly, a manhunt was launched to arrest the accused and on Friday Rau police have arrested three persons and recovered the stolen items including a gold ring, a chain, two motorcycles and three knives.
"During interrogation, they confessed to have committed many robberies in the area on knife points. They were booked under sections 379 and 41(1) of the IPC," said Vijay Sisodiya, Rau police station in-charge.
The accused have many cases pending against them in various police stations.
