EC failed to curb money power: GK Vasan

Union shipping minister alleged that the Election Commission turned a blind eye to distribution of money for vote.

Chennai: Stung by party’s rout in the Assembly elections, Tamil Maanila Congress chief G.K. Vasan on Friday said people of Tamil Nadu have not made up their mind to accept an alternative to the Dravidian majors — AIADMK and DMK.

Speaking to reporters on his party’s dismal performance, the former Union shipping minister alleged that the Election Commission turned a blind eye to distribution of money for vote.

“People of Tamil Nadu have not yet made up their mind to accept an alternative. We hope that the people would change their mindset keeping in mind the prevailing situation. However, people are supreme in a democracy and the TMC respects and accepts the verdict,” Mr Vasan said.
