The Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) on Friday demanded an inquiry into alleged diversion of funds meant for development of tribal areas. The party wanted to know how Rs. 32 crore aimed at development of agency areas was diverted to non-tribal areas.

The demand was put forth at mini Mahanadu organised by the party at Utnoor mandal headquarters. The event was attended by Central polit bureau member Ramesh Rathod, State Telugu Yuvatha president Virender Goud, TTDP general secretary Amarnath Babu, district president Lolam Shamsunder and party spokesperson Yunus Akbani.

The TTDP leaders alleged heavy corruption in Mission Kakatiya works in the district. They accused engineering officials of recording highly inflated bills for less quantum of work.

The party was also critical of the TRS government for not fulfilling its promises made during the general elections. It pointed out the failure of the government in allocating funds for fee reimbursement and the final instalment of crop loan waiver.
