Maharshtra: Khadse serves legal notice on activist Damania

Damania’s allegations came following the arrest of Khadse’s personal assistant Gajanan Patil for seeking a Rs 30 crore bribe over a land deal, from an economist Ramesh Jadhav. The legal notice skips mention of the arrest of Patil.

The notice said, “Damania deliberately made false allegations against Khadse and his son-in-law to tarnish his reputation in public life.” It has come as a shock and caused immense damage to the minister and his family.

Damania had stated, “Khadse’s son in law Manish Khevalkar owns a Hyundai Sonata, registered with Jalgaon RTO, which has been converted into a limousine. Khevalkar has modified the car without seeking permission from the RTO.”

The legal notice to Damania states, “We hereby call upon (Damania) to refrain from issuing any further press statement without any basis and defamatory articles in newspapers and TV channels forthwith and further tender an unconditional and unqualified apology and pay damages to Khadse.” It said if apology is not tendered, they would go forward with further action.
