State BJP spokesperson Munna Singh Chauhan today said the entry of nine disqualified Congress MLAs into the BJP fold would help the party in making Uttarakhand free of the Congress rule in the Assembly elections.
“In Assam, a former Congress leader crossed swords with his party on the issue of corruption and joined the BJP. He promised a corruption-free government. In the same manner, the nine disqualified Congress MLAs will strengthen our fight against the corrupt Congress government. In the coming days, Uttarakhand too will be free from the Congress rule,” said Munna Singh.
He criticised the Congress leaders for unnecessarily speculating on the pros and cons of the entry of the nine disqualified Congress MLAs into the BJP. “We do not need advice from the Congress which is dependent on one family for leadership. We adhere to collective leadership and thank our leaders for the entry of rebel congress MLAs,” said Munna Singh.
On being asked if the party was willing to forget the allegations of corruptions levelled by the BJP on former Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, Munna said the party did not have double standards on corruption and if the charges were proved, action would be taken.
