Child run over by truck

SOLAN: A five-year-old child, Vilal Ahmed, studying at Government Primary School in Khera village near Nalagarh, was run over by a speeding truck (HP-12-D-5231) when he was standing on the road outside his school during lunch break here today.

A five-year-old child, Vilal Ahmed, studying at Government Primary School in Khera village near Nalagarh, was run over by a speeding truck (HP-12-D-5231) when he was standing on the road outside his school during lunch break here today.

Police officials said the child was killed on the spot and though the truck driver had fled the spot, he was soon arrested and booked under Sections 279, 337 and 304-A of the IPC for rash and negligent driving. Vilal was a child of a migrant labourer, Faiz Ahmed, who hails from Uttar Pradesh.
