Police to probe misbehaviour by resident in SP office

SOLAN: The Chief Judicial Magistrate yseterday granted permission to the Solan police to probe a case of non-cognisable offences.

Solan, May 20

The Chief Judicial Magistrate yseterday granted permission to the Solan police to probe a case of non-cognisable offences. On April 6, a Solan resident, Prem Singh, came to the office of the Superintendent of Police to settle an appeal in a case under the RTI Act. He had sought information on traffic challans.

Though the appeal was settled amicably and Prem Singh had testified so in writing, trouble started when he was caught recording the proceedings in his cellphone.

When confronted, he misbehaved with police officials and the staff. Efforts to pacify him proved futile as he shouted and obstructed the officials in the discharge of their duty, said Additional SP Shushil Kumar Sharma. — TNS
