Lucknow: Almost two years after chief minister Akhilesh Yadav inspected construction anomalies in Saraswati Apartments of Riverview Enclave, Gomtinagar, and asked then housing commissioner of UP to probe into the matter, the commissioner has submitted report to the housing department. The report indicts the contractor and suggests that a few LDA engineers also flouted construction norms while building.
Housing secretary Pandhari Yadav has instructed LDA vice-chairman to take action against the engineers and contractor found guilty in the report. Earlier, the chief minister had asked then divisional commissioner of Lucknow to submit a report but later, UP housing board's commissioner was given the task.
Residents of these apartments have been plagued with seepage problems, sewage outflow in the basement and sub-standard pipelines being used, resulting in frequent leakages.
