AMR Ramesh's next is Aaspota

AMR Ramesh's next is Aaspota
Twenty five years ago, on this day, India lost its former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi. Today, director AMR Ramesh is set to launch a film, titled Aaspota (blast), which captures the 110-day drama that finally led to the assassination. Known for his other films based on real-life incidents, Cyanide and Attahasa, Ramesh tells us that this time around, getting access to meet the people who were part of the CBI, as well as the LTTE at that time, proved to be much easier.
'I have spent months conducting interviews with the people who were connected with what happened 25 years ago. I feel it is the fact that they have seen my earlier work that has convinced them to come out and speak to me about all the details, as they know that I will tell the truth onscreen,' says Ramesh. From the biggest CBI officers, cops who were on the spot where Rajiv was assassinated, to high-ranking LTTE personnel, topped with visits to the homes of the assassins ' Sivarasan and Shubha ' Ramesh seems to have got the entire picture in place. Currently in its pre-production stage, Aaspota is expected to begin on August 20 (Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary) and will be released in theatres on May 21 next year, which marks the 26th death anniversary of the former Prime Minister.
