3 injured in mishap on Sion-Panvel highway

Three persons were severely injured in a road mishap on Sion-Panvel highway near the Vashi flyover when the car they were travelling in along the Panvel lane was hit by a speeding Scorpio, which had veered off the Mumbai lane and crossing the low height road divider, landed on the opposite side. The MUV first rammed into an Indica, followed by crashing into a Santro behind it. The incident occurred on Friday around 10.30 am.

Navi Mumbai: Three persons were severely injured in a road mishap on Sion-Panvel highway near the Vashi flyover when the car they were travelling in along the Panvel lane was hit by a speeding Scorpio, which had veered off the Mumbai lane and crossing the low height road divider, landed on the opposite side. The MUV first rammed into an Indica, followed by crashing into a Santro behind it.
The incident occurred on Friday around 10.30 am. The three injured persons in the Santro have been identified as Anup Babulal Shah (50), who was at the wheels, his wife Jalpa Anup Shah (38) and son Mehul Anup Shah (18). The family resides in Sindhi Colony in Sion. They were heading towards Pune.
The Scorpio car driver has been identified Krushna Waman Rane (35), a resident of Vile Parle.
According to Vashi police, the accused driver has been detained. As the injured persons were not in a mental state to record a police statement due to trauma, an FIR is yet to be registered against the driver.
