Patna: The 10-day Mango and Litchi Festival began at Hotel Maurya here on Friday, providing Patnaites an opportunity to savour foods prepared with the two most loved and popular fruits in the country.
The hotel's spice court restaurant manager, Nagesh Roy, said for street food lovers, dishes like 'litchi and mango tandoori chat', 'litchi malai kofta' and some other varieties would be available.

Chef Hareem Rashid, who is part of the 12 member team that prepares the dishes, said some popular items have been retained this time. "We have also added new dishes," he added.
Rashid said food lovers can taste an entirely new delicacy, 'litchi malai kofta' this time. Rashid said in addition to the kofta, 'mango mint fish tikka' prepared with unripe mango and mint would be a new dish for the guests.
Those who love non-vegetarian food can savour 'mango mutton seek kebab' which is prepared with mutton and pulp unripe mango.
In deserts, 'mango phirnee' is a new addition for the guests. Altogether 36 eatables would be available.
