CPT & law CET date clash stumps students
Mumbai: Students taking their first law entrance test are in a quandary. Many of them have also enrolled to take the common proficiency test (CPT) exam for joining the chartered accountancy course. And both are on the same day.
While the five-year law CET is scheduled for June 18 and the three-year law CET is on June 19, the state CET cell may consider swapping the dates, as one of the exams is clashing with the law entrance exams in other states.

However, what the university has not taken into account is that the CPT is on June 19. “There are several students taking both the exams. In fact, studying the legal aspects is very important in the chartered accountancy and hence a lot of students study law too,” said Maharashtra Coaching Classes Owners’ Association vice-president Narendra Bhambwani.
He will write to the education minister Vinod Tawde and the Mumbai University vice-chancellor Sanjay Deshmukh to shift the law entrance test. More than 13,000 candidates registered for the first-ever Maharashtra law common entrance test (CET) for three- and five-year law programmes in less than 10 days since the process began.
