Three persons were killed and another was injured when a jeep they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge at Kushla village near Sundernagar in this district, police said on Friday.
The incident took place on Thursday evening when driver of the pick-up jeep, travelling to Jaidevi from Derdhar area, lost control of the vehicle which plunged in the 400-metre-deep gorge, Mandi SP Kumar Thakur said.
The three died on the spot while the driver was injured, he said. The deceased were identified as Roshan, Chet Ram and Chaman Lal, he added.
A case has been registered against the driver under Sections 279 (driving on a public way rashly or negligently to endanger human life) and 304-A (causing death by rash or negligent act) of the IPC and an investigation is on, Shukla said. PTI
