ALBUERA, Leyte: Mayor Ramon de la Cerna Jr. of this town resigned his post after losing to mayor-elect Rolando Espinosa with a wide margin of votes during the May 9 polls.
Outgoing Vice Mayor Norman Mesina was sworn into the vacated office of de la Cerna, while Municipal Councilor Catalina Tolero took the position of Mesina to serve six weeks before the recently-elected officials assume office on July 1.
