EZULWINI – Premier League sponsor MTN Swaziland has hailed the PLS for what was a competitive ever league campaign in years.

In his speech during the tournament’s prize presentation last night at the Royal Swazi Sun Convention Centre, MTN CEO Ambrose Dlamini alluded to the interesting competition both at the upper hand of the log table and bottom end where four teams were in contention.

“As we officially close the current season I wish to reflect on a number of areas which are noteworthy for this gathering. This year, the biggest positive was maintaining the competitiveness of the league until the last day. Going into the last three games with four teams competing for the league title and four teams facing relegation made all the games exciting. We have also seen some surprises, including Midas City finishing fifth position,” he said.

He also made special mention of Minister of Sports, Culture, and Youth Affairs David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala for always taking time to attend the tournament’s prize presentation. “You have always supported us in all our initiatives and activities and we remain confident that the love and zeal you have for sports in Swaziland will lead us straight into His Majesty’s vision 2022.”

He however, noted that there was still a challenge to make stadiums a friendly place to be and urged the PLS to assist them in ensuring that they achieve that goal.
“This year, the overall attendance increased but we still have a responsibility to market our games, the activities we line up for fans and minimising the use of vulgar utterances by fans.
