Labasa Robbery Accused Remanded In Custody

A 19-year old man in Labasa has been charged with one count of robbery. Tevita Sautuca of Emily Road in Siberia appeared before Magistrate Thushara Thennakoon at Labasa Magistrates Court yesterday.

A 19-year old man in Labasa has been charged with one count of robbery.

Tevita Sautuca of Emily Road in Siberia appeared before Magistrate Thushara Thennakoon at Labasa Magistrates Court yesterday.

It is alleged that on May 16 around 8am, Sautuca robbed a female who is his neighbour while she was on her way to work.

Police prosecutor Constable Nilesh Prasad requested the court for Sautuca to remain in Police custody as investigation continues.

Magistrate Thennakoon granted the prosecution’s request and ordered the suspect to be in remand until the next court date.

The case has been adjourned for mention on May 23.
