Two held for drug possession

Mapusa: Two persons, natives of Kerala and Kashmir, have been arrested by Anjuna police for illegal possession of a narcotic substance suspected to be charas worth 23,000 late on Wednesday night.During patrolling at Anjuna, the police suspected a person identified as Haroon Parvez, a native of Kerala. Police detained Parvez and carried out a search on him.
During the search, Anjuna police found 2.4g of charas on his person. Police said that during the interrogation, Parvez disclosed that he had purchased the narcotic substance from a person identified as Manjoor Ahmed of Kashmir. Police immediately rushed to the residence of Ahmed at Anjuna and arrested the second accused in the case.
Both the accused were produced before JMFC Mapusa. tnn
