GDANSK, Poland – Protea has supplied a 0.5-ton SWL cargo lift system to Knutsen OAS Shipping via its partner Westcon Løfteteknik.

This will be installed on thefloating storage and offloading vessel for Total’s Martin Linge development in the Norwegian North Sea.

The lift, said to be fully compliant with the DNV Lifting Appliance 2.22 standard, will transport cargo from the walkway level to the helideck.

The drive system features two electric drive units and two control panels to enhance control of the lift from the two operational levels, with numerous safety devices to safeguard offshore operations.

After completing a factory acceptance test, including load testing and full function testing on a purpose-built test stand, the equipment was delivered to the Remontowa shipyard in Gdansk for installation and commissioning by Protea engineers.
