ACB gets incriminating evidences against IAS and RAS officers involved in NRHM-IEC corruption case

ACB gets incriminating evidences against IAS and RAS officers involved in NRHM-IEC corruption case
JAIPUR: A day after registering an FIR against 2003-batch IAS officer Neeraj K Pawan and four others including three government officers, sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have not ruled out the possibility of the arrest of the IAS and another RAS officer allegedly involved in NRHM-IEC corruption case. They have claimed that they have got incriminating evidences against the officers which included transcripts of the phone calls between them, some video footage and other documentary evidences.
Officers are now aiming at grilling the accused including Ajit Kumar Soni, a private person, Joji Varghese the store keeper at NRHM-IEC to collect more evidences against their “Boss”.
“In all their interactions they have referred the IAS officer as their boss and we have got evidences and proofs in which Soni after fixing the percentage of bribe as consultancy charges manipulated with the tenders,” said a source at ACB close to the investigation on Thursday.
Sources added that Ajit Kumar Soni despite not being a government officer used to directly report to the IAS officer and at instances when one firm approached IAS officer Pawan to know the terms and conditions of some tender the officer refers him the name of Soni. “At an instance Pawan has clearly told a vendor to get in touch with Soni to understand the terms and conditions. And the terms were the fixing of bribery,” the source added.
In the detailed FIR the ACB have complied all the transcripts of the phone call which established the big nexus of corruption in the NRHM-IEC. “We can’t rule out the possibility of more arrests including of IAS officer and RAS officer in this case. We are into making the case more stronger against him to tighten a noose,” said a senior officer of ACB.
However, majority of the ACB officers preferred to refrain to say much on record. VK Singh, inspector general of police, ACB, supervising the case, said, “We can’t say much on the finer details of the case which is under investigation. All what I can tell you is that we have registered a case under section 7,8,9, 10, 11, 12, 13(1) A, C and D to be read with 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act and section 193, 420, 467, 468 of Indian Penal code.”
