Ballia police arrested an imposter on Wednesday for threatening superintendent of police and other police personnel for last two months. The arrested person, posing himself as the PRO of UP Governor Ram Naik, used to make calls to the SP through different phone numbers.

Varanasi: Ballia police arrested an imposter on Wednesday for threatening superintendent of police and other police personnel for last two months. The arrested person, posing himself as the PRO of UP Governor Ram Naik, used to make calls to the SP through different phone numbers.
SP Ballia Manoj Kumar Jha told TOI over phone that the arrested person Akhilesh Dubey is the resident of Jasaw village in Cholapur area of Varanasi district.
He tried to mount pressure for vacating the residence of a constable Nawal Kishor. He also threatened the SP for his transfer if his demand was not fulfilled.
His calls were received from different numbers including 9454867271, 9565935583, 7380802131, and 8408280105. He was exposed when these numbers were put on surveillance. The police arrested him on Wednesday and sent to jail. He was booked under section 420 and other relevant sections of IPC.
