    Region: Cuba

Diplomatic relations between the USA and Cuba are at an all time high and it is likely that more and more tourists visiting America will include Cuba in their itinerary over the coming years. Here are four must-visit places in Cuba:

The Malecon in Havana is the place to be from sunset to sunrise. The Malecon is a broad esplanade, roadway and seawall which stretches for 8 km along the coast in Havana. At night, musicians, gallivanting teenagers, lovers, and street vendors take to the Malecon for a chill hang or to drink rum and party to a mashup of breaking waves and eclectic beats.

Founded in 1728, University of Havana is an architectural marvel. In the 1950s, the university, which is the Castro brothersf alma mater, was the site of major anti-government protests. It remains a site of political and social organisation and the cityfs nexus of contemporary youth culture today.

From art galleries to a beer museum, Havanafs e Old Plazaf also known as Plaza Vieja has tons of culture going on. The outdoor cafes are a great place to spend an afternoon. Tourists usually sip from three-foot-high beer towers here.
