Car festival at Karaikal

A large number of devotees offered worship to Sri Dharbaranyeswarar and Sri Pranambigai on the occasion of the Vaikasi car festival on Wednesday.

The festival commenced with hoisting of holy flag in connection with the annual “brahmothsavam”. The processional idols of Sri Shenbaga Thyagarajar, Sri Ambal, Sri Subramanyar and Sri Ganapathy were taken in the procession. Satyendra Singh Dursawat, District Collector, P.R. Siva, Puducherry Minister for Fisheries, Sri-la-Sri Kandasamy Thambiran Swamigal from Dharmapuram Adheenam, Pannerselvam, Executive Officer of the temple were among those who pulled the temple car.
