Ahmedabad: Dreaded criminal Kirti Gemar Mackwana, who is accused of three murders, including of two dental quacks, was nabbed by Meghaninagar police late on Tuesday night. Police claimed Kirti and five accomplices were planning an armed robbery at an angadia firm early on Wednesday morning.
Kirti was nabbed by crime branch in July 2015, but jumped parole in April and was on the run.
Sector 2 DIG B D Vaghela said they recovered three firearms, 42 rounds of ammunition, one magazine, a knife, six cell phones, three motorcycles and Rs 7,640 in cash from the gang. "The others arrested include Chandrabhan Singh Tomar, Sandeep Singh Tomar, Amit Shivhare and Jeetendra Singh Tomar," added Vaghela.
After getting fifteen-day parole on March 16, 2016, Kirti never returned to jail. "He did not even go to his house in Ramol. We alerted our informers to trace him and got results," added Vaghela.
Kirti was charged and tried for the murder of his father in 2000 and two others till 2004. "He was acquitted in all the three murder cases. In 2015, he was accused of killing two dental quacks in Radhanpur-Sankheshwar and a gas agency owner in Ahmedabad," said a cop.
