The Hindu Young World Summer Smart Camp witnessed active participation from children on the third day of the camp, where several exercises such as quizzing, games, enacting celebrities etc were conducted for enhancing general awareness, language skills and theatrical abilities.

The theatre session held at FIITJEE World School, Dilshuknagar, focussed on improving the body language and expressive skills of the children.

These were aimed at developing not only the theatre skills, but also much needed life skills. A special act called ‘Spyle tag’ was conducted, through which kids learnt how to impersonate, one of the basic elements of theatre.

“The outcome in just three hours of the session was excellent. Since the kids were not shy, they were alert in grabbing the content in their first attempt, which made the whole session very enriching for us as well,” said Nivash Gopalswamy, HR and Head of Training from Crea Shakthi, a theatre group from Chennai.

The quiz session was organised at Gitanjali Devashray School, Secunderabad, with participation of over 50 students in both the morning and evening sessions. “The senior students found the session more entertaining because of the aptitude-based questions which challenged their mettle,” said Rama Savitri, one of the trainers for the session. The camp was also organised at Sister Nivedita School in Ameerpet.
