Varuna Yagam from May 21

May 19, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - SRIKAKULAM:

Uttarandhra Sadhu Parishad and Anandashramam will organise ‘Varuna Yagam’ from May 21 to 23 seeking divine help for abundant rainfall for the drought-hit Srikakulam district.

Parishad head Swami Srinivasananda Saraswati said the Yagam had proved to bring desired results previously and expressed hope for its replication this year too.

At a media conference, he said the Yagam would be performed in the Ananda Ashramam near Ponduru and several spiritual leaders would offer japam to the God.

Rainfall

Meanwhile, temperatures came down with the pleasant rainfall which continued for four hours from 9 am on-wards on Wednesday. However, gales and rains damaged mango crop in several areas including Etcherla and other areas.
