New Delhi: BSES Yamuna Power Ltd and BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd, which supply electricity to about 3.5 million residential, institutional and business consumers in Delhi, have negotiated a fresh schedule for paying their dues of about 1,300 crore to power producer NTPC Ltd.

Officials from BSES and NTPC confirmed that the state-run power producer will not go ahead with its 5 May notice of regulating power supply to the Reliance Infrastructure Ltd-owned power utilities, according to an amicable agreement reached on 16 May.

The companies informed the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission about the settlement on the same day, said one of the officials cited above.

Reliance Group companies have sued HT Media Ltd, Mint’s publisher, and nine others in the Bombay high court over a 2 October 2014 front-page story that they have disputed. HT Media is contesting the case.
