Soon, stories from Dholpur to be seen on silver screen

The author of the novel 'Voices of the Silent Creek' Vikkas Arun Pareek has spent his childhood in Dholpur where his father was posted as additional district judge. The novel is about on women who live in Chambal under terror and still manage to lead a good life.

Jaipur: A novel about stories in the ravines of Chambal written by an author from Rajasthan will soon be made into a film. The author of the novel 'Voices of the Silent Creek' Vikkas Arun Pareek has spent his childhood in Dholpur where his father was posted as additional district judge. The novel is about on women who live in Chambal under terror and still manage to lead a good life.

Pareek, who hails from Jaipur, is presently based in London. Based on the book, filmmaker Anurag Sharma is making a movie titled 'Vedna'.
Talking to TOI on Tuesday, Pareek, said, "My father was posted in Dholpur from 2005 to 2008 as additional district judge in a fast track court. I was in Class XII when I was fascinated towards the ravines and the stories of society where many a times a women were seen fighting their battles against the affluent Thakurs and others in the village. During my stint as an engineer in London, I penned the book which is getting acclaim."
On the film, he said, "I got a call from the director in 2015 saying he wished to make a film on my novel and I consented. I am excited to see how he recreates the novel on the silver screen."
The film is being shot at Devisingh Ka Pura, Ramsagar Dam and other places.
