Lowest polling recorded at Naval Base booth

The polling booth at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 at the Naval Base recorded the lowest polling percentage of 16.36 per cent in Ernakulam district.

Only 272 of the eligible 1,663 voters exercised their franchise. In 2011, 53 per cent of the citizens had cast their votes here, according to an official communication. Over 680 of the eligible 1,285 voters had then turned up at the booth.

The second lowest polling percentage was recorded from the second booth in the school. Only 31.3 per cent of the people cast their votes here. The booth recorded a dip to the tune of 55.24 percentage compared with the average polling in the constituency.

Highest polling

Records showed that the ‘10 A’ booth at the Little Flower LP School in Cheranalloor registered the highest polling booth-wise in Ernakulam. About 85.7 per cent of the voters exercised their franchise here. Of the 1,084 voters, 929 cast their votes. In 2011, the anganwadi booth in Korungotta island had recorded the highest polling percentage. About 85.6 per cent of the voters exercised their franchise at this booth in this election.
