In Satna district, a student hanged himself after failing in the examinations on Monday night. Rahul Giri, a resident of ward number 14 of Satna town, failed in board examinations, police said. A case has been registered at Kolgawan police station.
In Damoh district, Divya Sen, a resident of Subhash Nagar committed suicide by hanging herself in her room.
Her father Dwarka said Divya was upset after board results. "She had secured only 43 per cent marks, which led to depression," he said. She took the extreme step when the family members were not present at home and she was alone. In choked voice, her father said, "No child should commit suicide. They should think of pain and trauma of their parents before taking any such step."
In Dindori district, a 17-year-old tribal girl hanged herself to death on Monday night. The incident took place at Sarsi village of the district. Kunjan Manikpuri, 17, was under depression after failing in class 12 exam and hanged herself in her room, police said.
