NEW DELHI: A look at the key passages of play from Match 49 of the 2016 Indian Premier League , in which Rising Pune Supergiants beat Delhi Daredevils by nine wickets at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnamon on Tuesday.
Dinda jolts Delhi early
Out of the 12 matches Rising Pune Supergiants have played this season ahead of their clash against Delhi Daredevils on Tuesday, Ashok Dinda had played seven, claiming equal number of wickets but had failed to put in any substantial performance for his team.
In his eighth match for the new franchise, the pacer made a telling impact upfront. He got the ball to swing back in to the left-hander Quinton de Kock first ball and he continued that probing line in search for a wicket. The perseverance yielded favourable result in his second over when he trapped the wicketkeeper batsman with an inswinger to compete a wicket maiden. He conceded just two runs in his first two overs and threw in a bit of variation to surprise the Delhi batsmen.
A short one did the trick for Dinda after he was hit for two fours by Karun Nair in the third over. Shreyas Iyer was hurried on by a 141 kmph short ball, top edging it to backward square leg. After three overs, Dinda’s figures were 3-1-12-2. He came back to bowl the 19th over and removed JP Duminy, conceding eight runs off his final one.
Zampa’s wrong one
The young Australian legspinner had shown what he was capable of at Vishakapatanam when he claimed 6 for 19 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. With turn on offer, Zampa was at it again and he broke the back of the Delhi line-up by taking three wickets. He came on to bowl at a rather comfortable position with Delhi crawling to 42 for 2 in nine overs.
Sanju Samson and Nair were feeling the pressure and Samson thought of breaking the shackles by taking on Zampa. But he chose the wrong ball to dance down the track. After Zampa had bowled two length ball googlies, Samson charged, Zampa bowled it a bit short, more importantly it was the wrong one and Samson had no clue about it. MS Dhoni did the rest. Two overs later, Rishabh Pant threw his bat at a flatter one from Zampa, only to be caught at long-off after facing nine balls for his four. Zampa then got rid of the set Nair with length ball. He went on to finish with match figures of 4-0-21-3.

Morris goes berserk
99 for 6 in 19 overs made for a sorry reading for Delhi, but Morris - Delhi's 'Man Friday' this season - provided them with something to cheer about by tonking 22 runs off the last over bowled by Perera. The South African took two fours and two sixes off the Sri Lankan and remained unbeaten on 38 off just 20 balls to allow himself and fellow Delhi bowlers to bowl at something respectable in the second essay.
Rahane leads RSP chase
Chasing just over a run-a-ball target, openers Usman Khawaja and Ajinkya Rahane got Pune off to a flier, scoring 30 in the first three overs. The Australian departed after scoring 19 off 13 balls to Morris but Rahane continued to motor along in the company of George Bailey before rain halted play for nearly an hour. Once play resumed, Rahane (42*) shifted gears with a four and a six off Mohammed Shami before on came the covers for a second time. When play was hated again, RPS were 76/1 and ahead of Delhi by 19 runs (D/L Method). The match was called off soon after and Pune were declared winners.
