Varachha triple murder case: Crime branch arrests three accused

The Detection of crime branch (DCB) of city police arrested three key accused in Varachha triple murder case on Tuesday. Police have yet to arrest one more accused wanted in connection with the murder that rocked the city on Saturday last.

Surat: The Detection of crime branch (DCB) of city police arrested three key accused in Varachha triple murder case on Tuesday. Police have yet to arrest one more accused wanted in connection with the murder that rocked the city on Saturday last.
Police arrested Gautam alias Golden alias Montu Goyani, 22, Kishan Ramesh Khokhar, 22, and Bhadresh alias Kalu Uka Patoliya, 30, from near Kim of Surat district when they were travelling in a bus.
Gautam's father Ganesh is yet to be arrested. The accused were nabbed on Monday night following specific information about them. The DCB team took help of local crime branch of Surat rural police in the operation.
The accused told police that after escaping from Surat, they went to different locations in Saurashtra. Police teams were also chasing them at different locations in Saurasthra. The accused left their car in Bhavnagar itself and took a bus.
"Our teams were continuously chasing the accused who were on the run after murdering three persons in the city. They are key accused and were involved in attacking the deceased," said Khursheed Ahmed, joint commissioner of police, crime, Surat.
Police tracked the accused from their mobile phone locations. Gautam was turning on his phone at regular intervals and also made a few calls. The accused were later handed over to Varachha police station for further investigation in the case.
"The accused will be produced in a court on Wednesday and their custody sought. We are yet to recover the weapons and the car used by the accused," added Ahmed.
