B-town’s best to storm USA in August
Karan Johar, his 'Student of the Year' trio and gang are prepping up with choreographer Remo D'Souza for three-hour shows across six cities.
Humpty Sharma aka Badrinath Varun Dhawan and his Dulhaniya, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif and her Baar Baar Dekho man Sidharth Malhotra, and Aditya Roy Kapur, Parineeti Chopra are gearing up to shake a leg to hit party tracks including “DJ Waley Babu”, “Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai”, “Kar Gayi Chull” and “Saturday Saturday”, while Punjabi rapper Baadshah wields the mic.
The six B-townies are coming together as the ‘Dream Team’, led by Karan Johar and trained by choreographers Remo D’Souza, Binny Jonny and Punit Pathak, to perform threehour shows across six cities in the US and Canada. The tour kick-starts on August 12 in Houston and travels through San Hose, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, winding up in New York on August 21.
“There will be lots of aerial acts, but owing to the strict regulations, no fire works,” the choreographer filmmaker points out. “Karan will be seen in a comic act with all the actors. It will leave the audience in splits. It’s turned out really funny. He’s the reason the shows don’t need any stand-up-comedians,” Remo adds.
While Varun who is kicked about the Student of the Year reunion, said, “I’m also extremely exited about joining the others on a roller-coaster ride,” Parineeti is eagerly looking forward to the tour too. “I have seen my sister (Priyanka Chopra) go on the ‘Temptation’ tours so I am really excited to be a part of one with a young gang. It’s going to be such a blast!” she told Mirror.

“This world tour will have different combinations: Varun is great at hip-hop, thanks to his Any Body Can Dance: ABCD 2 training, Katrina knows the genre too so they will come together for the first time for a modern act. Aditya isn’t really known for his dancing skills so we have a slow romantic theme for him with the ladies,” reveals Remo who is overseeing the tour but won’t be able to travel to all the cities since the tour clashes with the release of his superhero film, A Flying Jatt.
