JAMMU, May 17: A 26-year-old youth today died of suspected poisoning in Gummat area of city outskirts.
“The condition of Rohit Kumar (26) son of Chet Ram, a resident of Bhagwa (Doda), at present residing in a rented room with one of his friends in Gummat area, suddenly deteriorated late last night following which he was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he expired during treatment at about 2.35 am, today” a police spokesman said.
He said that after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. “Earlier, police initiated inquest proceedings in the case but later on the basis of suspicion, a case under Section 304-A against Arun, the friend and the room mate of the deceased, was registered’ he added.
He said that deceased was doing a job in a private company in Jammu and was living in a rented room in Gummat area of Jammu with one of his friend.
