Perambalur district emerged second in the State in overall pass percentage in the Plus Two examinations, the results of which were announced on Tuesday.
The overall pass percentage achieved this year by Perambalur district was 96.73. It had bagged the second position in the State last year too.
The top three rankers at the district level were all students of the Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Perambalur.
R. Rahul emerged on top in the district scoring 1,183 marks. K. Akalya was ranked second securing 1,181 marks while the third place was shared by M. Manashadevi and B. Ganisskar — each of them scoring 1,180 marks.
The district came second at the State-level with respect to overall pass percentage (93.62) among government schools. The top three rankers in government schools at the district level were coached under the Super-30 scheme. The district level toppers met the Collector K. Nanthakumar at the Collectorate who appreciated their performance, a release said.
