As many as 221 temples in Krishna district will be either renovated or beautified ahead of the Krishna Puskaralu-2016 scheduled to begin in August. The Endowments Department has identified the list of temples along the stretch of the Krishna, beginning from Jaggayyapeta to Hamsaladeevi, a confluence point of the river into Bay of Bengal.
The endowments officials on Tuesday told the Krishna District Zilla Parishad general body that the temples located along the bank of the river Krishna were identified for renovation and beautification. Renovation work on a majority of the identified temples has already begun. The officials concerned confirmed that as many as 91 pushkar ghats would be developed in 21 mandals apart from providing better road connectivity to pilgrims. The Roads and Buildings Department officials said that a total of 121 road projects would be taken up by spending Rs. 115 crore to ensure better road connectivity.
