Ko-2 director clarifies his stance on Nasser's role in the movie

Though Nasser sir's role is brief, the story of the film is about his character driving element of the entire screenplay.

Sarath, director of the recently released political thriller Ko-2, in response to Kamila Nasser’s tweet, clarifies his stance on Nasser’s role in the movie. She had tweeted about being unhappy with the limited screen time her husband got. Sarath said, “I guess Kameela madam’s tweets were misinterpreted. She was referring to the calls she received about the length of the role in Ko-2.

Though Nasser sir’s role is brief, the story of the film is about his character— driving element of the entire screenplay. I didn’t trim even a single frame of what was shot. Only a person of his stature could pull off that role, as his lines needed to be registered in the audience’s mind, for the main story and its sub plots to work. I grew up watching Nasser sir’s movies and I have great respect for him. I don’t see it as a controversy, but as a compliment. People noticed a lot about the character even though it was brief.”
