PANAJI: The Goa Congress will hold a "mashaal yatra" (torch march) here tomorrow to highlight the "failures" of the BJP-led state government, a senior party leader said today.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Digvijay Singh is likely to participate in the march, he said.

"The BJP-led government has been a major failure in the state. They have ditched the faith of people. We will be holding 'mashaal yatra' tomorrow to expose their failures," Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Luizinho Faleiro said.

He said the march was being organised to remind people of the promises made by BJP during the 2012 polls and how the party failed to fulfil it.

"They made huge announcements like shifting off-shore casinos from Mandovi river. But the ground reality is that the government patronised casinos and gambling culture," he alleged.

The law and order machinery has failed in the state, he further said.

"The crime rate is going up. People are fed up of this government," Faleiro said.

The GPCC will also hold its executive committee meeting tomorrow, which will be chaired by Digvijay Singh.
