KMC Hospitals, Mangaluru, recently observed International Nurses Day on its premises. Sister Jacintha D’Souza, principal of Athena College of Nursing, Mangaluru, who was the chief guest, spoke on the International Council of Nurses theme, “Nurses: A force for change: Improving health systems’ resilience”. She said that the World Health Organisation (WHO) specified that nurses should be appropriately resourced on the use of well-functioning adopted technologies. This is particularly beneficial to communication especially to remote care facilities where expert advice is needed to be accessible. This year’s theme highlights the role of nurses as agents of change.
