JAMMU, May 16: Inter School and Zonal Level Competitions, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) continued at different venues.
JAMMU: Inter School District Level Competitions in the discipline of under-14 and 17 Football was held at GGM Science College.
In under-14 Football, MHAC Nagbani will clash with BSF Paloura in the final tomorrow.
UDHAMPUR: District Level Inter Zonal Tournament for under-14 and 17 Boys in the disciplines of Handball and Badminton and District Level Inter School in Table Tennis concluded here at Mini Stadium.
In under-14 Handball (final), Udhampur defeated Jib by 6 goals, whereas in under-17 Handball (final), Udhampur crushed Jib by 9 goals.
In under-14 Table Tennis (final), Sachin Modi of Rising Pillar High School Ramnagar smashed Saksham of Happy Model HSS Udhampur in Singles, whereas in Doubles (final), Haseen and Saksham of Happy Model HSS Udhampur crushed Devansu and Akhilesh of National Academy Udhampur with 2-1.
In under-17 Table Tennis (final), Abhay Mahajan of National Academy Udhampur thrashed Parminder Kumar of AOC HSS Udhampur in Singles, whereas in Doubles (final), Hashit and Sudanshu of National Academy registered win over Rajveer and Kartikeyan of Happy Model HSS Udhampur.
In under-14 Badminton (final), Aryan of Udhampur defeated Akul Mengi of Jib in Singles, whereas in Doubles (final), Aayush Sharma and Amanadeep Singh of Jib smashed Paras and Jasmeet of Udhampur.
SAMBA: Inter School Zone Level Athletic Tournament held at Mini Stadium here.
In 100 meters, Shubam Singh of CMP Nud bagged first position, whereas in 200 meters, Rahul Singh of CMP Nud secured first position, in 400 meters, Shubam Singh of CMP Nud clinched first position and in 600 meters, Rahul Singh of CMP Nud bagged first position.
In Discus Throw and Shot-Put, Ajay Singh of NV Dhalote bagged first position, whereas in High Jump, Rahul Singh of CMP Nud clinched first position and in Long Jump, Ranjit Singh of MI Sumb bagged first position.
RAJOURI: Inter Zonal Tournament for under-14 boys and girls commenced at Mini-Stadium Sports Complex, here. The tournament was inaugurated by Altaf Hussain, Chief Education Officer in presence of DYSS officers/officials.
In Kabaddi (boys), GBMS Rajouri and GHS Panjgrain secured winner and runner-up positions, whereas in Kho-Kho, International HSS Rajouri and GHS Manyal bagged first and second positions respectively in boys’ category.
In Volleyball, GHS Gabar emerged winner and GHS Sankari secured runner-up position, whereas in Handball, GMS Mankote claimed first position.
The Inter Zonal Tournament for under-14 boys was also conducted at GHSS Lamberi, which was inaugurated by SDM Lamberi Harbans Lal.
