On the third-day of annual brahmotsavams, Sri Govindaraja Swamy took a celestial ride on the mighty ‘Simha Vahanam’, encircling the four mada streets of Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple, here on Monday. Led by elephants, horses and bulls forming part of the temple paraphernalia, the processional deity was taken around much to the delight of the devotees.

As per the ‘Stotra Vangmayam’, the Lord appears as a fierce lion in the heart of the demons and it is hence depicted as personification of valour. Chanting of the vedic hymns along with traditional dances of several artistes, during the procession, added to the festive environment.

Snapana Tirumanjanam, Unjal Seva and other rituals were performed to the Lord with utmost devotion. Later in the evening, the processional deity of Sri Govindaraja Swamy was taken in a procession on the pearl-studded Muthyapupandiri Vahanam. Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy of Tirumala Mutt, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, local temples Deputy EO Varalakshmi, Executive Engineer Jagadeeswara Reddy, garden superintendent Srinivas and large number of devotees took part.
