: The call given by the CPI (Maoist)’s east division committee to observe bandh on Monday failed to evoke response. It was partial in the Chintapalli area where APSRTC bus services to interior areas were suspended.

The Maoists gave the bandh call to protest the killing of one of its top leaders and secretary of the Galikonda area committee secretary Azad and two others by the police in the Marripakala forest area in Koyyuru mandal on May 4.

APSRTC and private vehicles plied on the main roads and the weekly shandies at R.V. Nagaram and Annavaram were not affected.
